About CTD
The Coalition of Texans with Disabilities (CTD) is a disability rights organization based in Austin, TX that “ensures that persons with disabilities may work, live, learn, play and participate fully in the community of their choice through governmental advocacy, public awareness activities, and professional disability consulting.”
Video Synopsis
Our “Welcome to CTD” nonprofit documentary profile video offers a behind-the-scenes look at the organization, promoting its goals and the work of its staff members, many of whom have serious disabilities themselves; William, nearly blind, edits the website using a screen-reader; Susie, in a wheelchair, works instead with her desk on the floor; Bryson, with limited use of his arms, operates mostly with his feet. Yet these “disabilities” have not limited their ability to be fully productive and invaluable members of the organization. The video also touches upon their hopes for the future of CTD and the rights of people with disabilities.
